Basic job functions:
Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the First Solar?s databases. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Designs multi-plant data structure, data warehouse for the corporation.

Essential functions & responsibilities:
- Recoverability - Creating and testing backups
- Integrity - Verifying or helping to verify data integrity
- Security - Defining and/or implementing access controls to the data
- Availability - Ensuring maximum uptime
- Performance - Ensuring maximum performance given budgetary constraints
- Development and testing support - Helping programmers and engineers to efficiently utilize the database
- Migrating from legacy
- Production database uptime
- Archiving
- Data modeling
- Database mirroring and replication
- Working experience on MS Cluster.

Key Accountabilities:
- SQL 2008 Database Services Install, Configure, Migration and Implementation.
- SQL 2008 Database Backup, Restore and Disaster Recovery.
- MS Reporting Server, Integration Server and Analysis Services.
- Very Large database troubleshooting, performance tuning and online maintenance.
- Patch management.

Experience:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and related tools.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years as a Microsoft SQL Database Administrator.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience as with SQL Server.
- SQL Server replication configuration, creation & maintenance.
- Experience in a 24/7/365 manufacturing environment.
- Should have experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
- Should have experience with SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services).
- Should have experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Expertise in database performance tuning, data backup/recovery, archiving, data modeling and security
techniques.
- Should have experience with Microsoft Management Studio, other relational and/or multi dimensional data?-
base packages and related tools, experience developing and implementing distributed databases, enter
prise data models, data warehouse and/or data dictionaries and experience in OLAP/multi-dimensional
technologies and other SQL/RDBMS technology and techniques.
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Windows server administration 2008.
- English writing and speaking high level.

Education:
4 year degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

Required technical skills:
- Solid skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures
- Solid skills with Transact SQL, query writing
- Solid skills with debugging stored procedures and triggers
- Strong Database Management skills, including backup and recovery procedures
- Solid skills in productivity factors and ability to understand impact of problem on overall database perform-
ance
- Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes
- Strong skills in maintenance tools and procedures
- Solid skills with one or more programming language and design technique.
- Ability to define physical and logical data structures.
