[htaccess] Przyjazne linki Opcje

Mam problem z linkiem.
Chciałbym żeby link wyglądał tak:

strona.pl/event?day=1&month=1&year=2000

ale niestety nie wiem jak to zrobić za pomocą htaccess
to nie działa:

RewriteRule ^(event)?day=([0-9]+)&month=([0-9]+)&year=([0-9]+)$ user/event.php?event=$1&day=$2&month=$3&year=$4
