[inne][PHP]auto_detect_line_endings, on czy off Opcje

Jeżeli chodzi o parametr auto_detect_line_endings domyślnie jest "0" czyli rozumiem że OFF
Chciałbym to włączyć bo jeżeli korzystam z file() to rozumiem że na MACu którego nie mam jak sprawdzić moje skrypty się posypią i strona nie zadziała..
Czy ON wnioskuje że "1" czymś skutkuje poważnym bo niezbyt rozumiem poniższy wycinek manuala:
