mysql_insert_id() nie zwraca wartości Opcje

Mam taką fukcję, którą wywołuje w indeksie:

$idNK=DaneDoWysylki($imie,$nazwisko,$adres,$tel,$email);
function DaneDoWysylki($imie,$nazwisko,$adres,$tel,$email) {
		$dbConnected = dbConnect();
		$question = "INSERT INTO klient VALUES ('','$imie','$nazwisko','$adres','$tel','$email')";
		$result = $dbConnected->query($question);
		var_dump(mysql_insert_id());
		if($dbConnected->affected_rows>0) {return $id;} else {return false;}
		$dbConnected->close();
	}

W bazie są kolumny: id (auto inc), imie, naziwsko, adres, tel, email.
Funkcja poproawnie dodane dane do BD, id sie incrementuje, ale mysql_insert_id() zawsze zwraca mi int(0).

A primary auto_increment masz nałożony na kolumnę ID. Pokaż strukturę tabeli z phpmyadmina. I jaką wersję mysql-a posiadasz?

The value of mysql_insert_id() is affected only by statements issued within the current client connection. It is not affected by statements issued by other clients
