End-of-Life Policy

StarOffice 5.2 software has begun Sun's End-of-Life (EOL) process - the deluxe packaged product and the slim kit are no longer available for purchase.

At Sun, we understand the investment customers make when adopting a new office productivity suite. We, therefore, recommend:

* Customers upgrade to the new StarOffice 6.0 Office Suite product in order to continue working with their office productivity applications with the most current enhancements and minimal interruptions.
* Customers who require a no-charge download of the latest version of StarOffice 6.0, go to the OpenOffice.org Web site and download OpenOffice 1.0 (source or binaries), which shares the same code base as StarOffice 6.0 software.

Sun has implemented the following end-of-life (EOL) process to support our continuing StarOffice 5.2 software users. This process is in accordance with Sun's general End-of-Life policy and underscores Sun's commitment to offer a fully comprehensive, long-term support program for its products:

* The support resources currently in place for StarOffice 5.2 will continue to be available for three full years. Customers can be assured of accessing the StarOffice 5.2 support resources until September 30, 2005.
* From September 30, 2005 to September 30, 2008 support for StarOffice 5.2 software goes on a time and material basis only, after which support will no longer be available from Sun.
