git nie wysyla na serwer Opcje

Postawiłem sobie gita + gitlaba. Następnie postanowiłem stworzyć nowy projekt. Lecę po kolei z poleceniami tak jak mi gitlab wypisał (w /home/user/public_html):

mkdir myTest
cd myTest
git init
touch README
git add README
git commit -m 'first commit'
git remote add origin git@localhost:root/myTest.git
git push -u origin master

a po ostatnim poleceniu wyświetla się:

fatal: 'root/myTest.git' does not appear to be a git repository
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly


Co robię, żle ?
