Mam problem walidator w3c mówi że:

W takim razie co powinno być zamiast REL? Proszę o pomoc.

Używam doctype w wersji 4.01 HTML przejściowego.

main wywołuje #main z arkusza CSS, który już jest podpięty.

Ojojojo, chyba musisz zacząć od baaaaardzo prymitywnych i wczesnych podstaw.
No albo po prostu przeczytaj do czego jest atrybut rel.

Jeśli dobrze rozumiem to chcesz żeby styl wyświetlania bloku div był taki jak reguły #main z pliku CSS, tak?
To wtedy powinno być id="main"
