We want people with passion!

SmartFrame Technologies is a dynamic and fast-growing company that’s dedicated to upholding the rights of image owners worldwide. Our vision is to redefine the way images are published and viewed online – and we need plenty of talented people to come on board to help us do just that.

We’re currently on the hunt for a proficient Backend Developer, one who will work their magic on everything that powers our platform. The role would be ideal for someone who is up to date on PHP and SQL languages, as well as relevant image- and graphics-processing tools used in conjunction with these. Crunching the data is key, but we’re also on the lookout for someone who can use their creativity and intelligence to extract the maximum value from it, crafting the tools and processes to support this where necessary.

There’s a lot to the role, but the lucky candidate will be joining at a pivotal moment for the company. They’ll be rewarded with plenty of scope for growth, a fun and sociable team, and some tasty financial perks on top of a competitive salary.

- Dev process putting developer needs in the spotlight
- Jira for project management, configured to follow the Git branching model
- Docker for local development environment

What you’ll be doing

- Working with data analysts to identify data-reporting opportunities
- Working with the development and devops teams to ensure that data sources are structured and populated appropriately
- Creating an extensive suite of business intelligence dashboards and tools based on data from internal and external sources
- Creating bespoke reports on request to support decision-making processes

What we expect from you

- Excellent knowledge of PHP programming language, especially newest additions to the language
- Experience with at least one PHP application framework and an ORM library
- Demonstrable knowledge of SQL language and relational database engines such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience with image-processing libraries such as GD, ImageMagick or Vips
- Strong attention to detail and sound analytical skills
- The ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced, entrepreneurial and results-oriented culture
- Bags of passion and drive, and a genuine desire to make things bigger and better
- A positive, team-playing attitude – things only work when we all come together
- The ability to juggle a number of things at once and deliver to tight deadlines
- A proactive attitude towards solving problems
- Superb organisational and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience with node.js
- Experience with middleware-based frameworks such as Laminas Mezzio and express.js
- Experience with big data solutions such as Amazon Athena and Redshift
- Experience with non-relational database engines
- Experience with AWS services and/or web services scaling

Benefits you’ll get to enjoy

- Plenty of hands-on personal and professional development – we want you to be the best version of you
- No-nonsense startup culture. Development is managed by an original SmartFrame developer
- Pragmatic and technocratic approach when choosing technologies and architecture
- The role is remote, but you’ll have the option to work in our Krakow office once it’s open

- Working with a multinational team of passionate creatives and development wizards
- Eligibility for our generous Profit Share Incentive Scheme – when the company does well, so do you
- Eligibility for our Company Share Option Scheme
